Sumitomo's GS (Global Standard) solid carbide drills are available in 2XD and 4XD lengths, and 3XD, 5XD and 8XD lengths in coolant through geometries. The 135 degree point angle features the patented "Sumitomo Point". The new PVD DEX coating provides extreme wear resistance and heat resistance. With greater heat and wear resistance in a coating comes the capability of increasing cutting speeds - Up to 30% greater than conventional carbide drills. The GS Drill also has a unique thinning design that promotes stable drilling thereby increasing tool life and improving tool repeatability. The GS Series employs a wider J-flute geometry to help evacuate chips quickly while drilling.
